Finding 711 Miette Avenue, Jasper

The town of Jasper is in the centre of Jasper National Park which is along the border of the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia. This mammoth national park is the largest of the Canadian Rockies National Parks. It is north of its better known, far busier sister-park Banff National Park.Many people will arrive in Jasper from Banff or Lake Louise. You will travel on the Icefields Parkway – a treat on its own. Plan on taking a full day to make that trip; you'll want to stop many, many times for the views.
Travelers arriving from the east or west do so along the Yellowhead Highway, Canada's other Trans Canada Highway.
From either the west or the south you will come to the only stop light in the park itself at the intersection of the Icefields Parkway and the Yellowhead Highway. That light seems to stop everyone. There are large signs telling you to turn left if you are coming from the west or proceed straight ahead if coming from Banff.
Visitors coming from the east (most commonly Edmonton) will see a well signed right turn off the Yellowhead Highway into Jasper.
No matter which direction you came from you will now be on Connaught Drive. Proceed to the centre of Jasper. It will become very obvious because of the train station, the Parks Information Office and the landmark round gift shop at the corner of Connaught and Miette Avenue. Turn on Miette and drive the three and a half blocks to the middle of the 700 block of Miette Avenue.
Miette is a divided street; it has a beautiful median separating the two directions of travel. As you travel up the street, you will see 711 Miette Avenue across the median and will have to continue to the next intersection where you simply double back and park right in front of your home away from home.
